A woman from Blairstown, New Jersey was killed Tuesday when the car she was driving on Route 80 drove off the slippery road and hopped a guardrail. Driver Hits Bicyclist While Texting About Drug Deal

A 28-year-old man hit a woman on her bicycle at 6:00 in the evening on Monday, apparently because he was distracted by the text messages he was sending about a drug deal. The woman sustained head injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. She is currently listed in stable condition.

Police say they found illegal prescription drugs in the man’s car, which they are prosecuting him for. They say they will also charge him for the collision.

Head-On Accident in Shokan Leaves One Dead, Three Injured

New Jersey State Police have unveiled a new plan to combat truck-car accidents on the state’s highways.
