Pedestrian killed in accident on Route 46

A woman in her 30s was killed in a pedestrian accident after being struckĀ  by a vehicle while crossing Route 40 last Thursday in Parsippany.

The woman was struck while crossing Route 46 while heading from her apartment complex to the gas station across the roadway. The woman was struck by a Toyota that was heading westbound.

A police officer that witnessed the accident stopped to offer aid to the woman, but she was pronounced dead on the scene. No citations have been given while the investigation into the accident continues.

Woman stikes, injures to pedestrians while in crosswalk

A 23-year-old woman stuck and injured two people in a pedestrian accident as they crossed a marked crosswalk in Newton.

According to authorities, the accident occurred as the woman headed eastbound on Sparta and did not see the two people walking across the crosswalk. One of the pedestrians sustained injuries to his head and face in the accident and was transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

The other pedestrian had minor pain in her legs and bruises to her face. The woman was charged with careless driving and failure to yield to a pedestrian within a marked crosswalk.
