A 47-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run car accident after she had pulled over on the side of the road due to car trouble.

The accident occurred in Staten Island as the woman pulled over and called friends to come help her with her vehicle. As she looked under the hood a Mazda Protege struck her and threw her nearly 150 feet. The 19-year-old man continued to drive.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews. The 19-year-old was charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.
