A 26-year old man from Barnegat, New Jersey was killed when the car he was riding in crashed into two trees and came to rest against a fence early Thursday morning. The 32-year old driver of the vehicle was speeding along Route 9 near Mizzen avenue at 2:50 a.m., when a Pine Beach officer attempted to pull him over. The driver sped away from the officer, but lost control of the vehicle, crashing into the trees and the fence. The driver minor injuries after being ejected from the vehicle and was later charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
