Wives file suit against drunk driver and bars over fatal motorcycle accident

Posted on Friday, February 17th, 2012 at 5:11 pm

Two widows of New Jersey motorcyclists killed in a tragic accident have filed suit against the drunk driver who caused the accident and the bars that served him alcohol. Four motorcyclists who were injured in the drunk driving accident are also plaintiffs in the wrongful death lawsuit.

The accident occurred in July in Bangor, Pennsylvania on Route 512. Seven members of the Last Chance Motorcycle Club in New Jersey were traveling south on their way to a funeral when the defendant’s northbound truck crossed over into traffic traveling in the opposite direction.

Three bars were named as defendants in the lawsuit for serving the driver alcohol when he already appeared to be drunk. Investigations revealed that the drunk driver had 3 beers at Sarah Street Grill, 4-5 alcoholic beverages at the Jacksonian Club, and an unspecified amount of alcohol at KC’s Pub before the motorcycle accident.

Circus performer injured in motorcycle accident

A 20-year-old stuntman for the Shrine Circus was injured after a motorcycle trick went wrong at a Missouri performance.

The young motorcyclist was attempting a  high jump for the fans when a wire, hanging too low from the ceiling, caused him to be thrown from his bike. He fell roughly 25 feet to the ground. The entire act was caught on camera by several audience members.

The man broke several bones in his fall, including his wrist, elbow, shoulder, and leg. He believes that the wire is the only reason for his accident, and has plans to continue with his career as soon as his broken bones have healed.
