The accident occurred on Sunday around noon on the Garden State Parkway, when a man driving his 2002 Saab sedan southbound lost control of the vehicle. He veered into oncoming traffic, hitting a Nissan Sentra. A third car struck the Sentra. The driver of the Saab and a 28-year-old passenger of the Sentra were killed. Traffic was shut down for approximately four hours.

The driver of a dump truck is in the hospital following an accident in which his vehicle flipped over a guardrail while carrying a load of rock salt. The man was driving the 40-ton Mack dump truck on Route 80 Friday morning when he lost control of the vehicle. The truck hit a guardrail and flipped, spilling rock salt across the road surface. The accident happened in the town of Windham on Route 23. The two 19-year-old’s died at the scene. A woman was killed while waiting for the bus in D.C. It was the second accident where someone on the sidewalk was hit by a vehicle.
The woman was hit when the car went up on the curb on Pennsylvania Avenue. Earlier that day, a man was walking on the sidewalk and was fatally injured by a pickup truck after it collided with a car when the driver lost control. The truck was heading west when it struck a car going north, then hit the pedestrian before coming to a stop.
Both accidents are being investigated.
